The Transportation Department has been assigned to learn more about the potential use of Unmanned Aerial Systems in three areas.  These areas are:

1.       Transportation Engineering and Construction

2.       Photogrammetry and Aerial Mapping

3.       Public Utilities

Representatives of companies, organizations or groups that are actively involved in the business sectors listed above are encouraged to attend this stakeholder meeting

Other than making a few introductory remarks, the ALDOT staff will not be making any presentations to the attendees.  Rather, this is an opportunity for stakeholders to describe the future potential use of UAS in the three areas described above.  Each individual will be given five minutes to speak.  Speakers also are encouraged to submit comments in writing.  Written comments (double spaced) and any supporting documentation should not exceed 20 pages in length.  Statements and written comments should focus on the opportunities for UAS application in the three areas above.  If you are unable to attend, written comments and supporting material will be welcome.  The information you provide will be referenced to prepare a report to Commissioner McMillan and Governor Bentley.

Also, please indicate whether you will need use of any audio-visual equipment so that we can have personnel available to provide technical assistance.

Please feel free to distribute this e-mail as you deem appropriate.
Those wishing to attend this meeting must sign up in advance with your contact information to assure that adequate meeting space and time is provided.
